Facebook, Schumi, economy...things look good again! (English version)

"Gwah gwah" -->Playful Tots is all cute and happy! Things are looking up again! First of all, two thumbs-up to Facebook for getting their website up to speed again. I waited a couple of days just to make sure it isn't just working for 1 day, and they proved that it's up and working now!

Second, for those who don't already know get ready to catch 8-time world champion Michael Schumacher in action once again....it's like Michael Jordan coming out of retirement!!! I can't wait to watch him race against the so-called baby Schumi, Lewis Hamilton who just got back his form with his first win at Budapest, oh babeee...Yes, his comeback is just temporary till Massa gets back, but I think all of us will agree that Massa should take his time to recover ;).

For those living in Asia, I think it is very likely that come this September, we can catch Schumi at the Singapore Grand Prix!!!! After all, his comeback is scheduled in August. Playful Tots has tickets to this event, and we will post pictures of Schumi in Singapore if we are lucky enough to get a glimpse of the great one. Well, we are crossing our fingers and toes that everything goes well, after the great dissapointment of Man U not coming to Jakarta.

To close, guess what? Economy is looking up again, The Dow is strong, the Asian stocks are strong, I believe that we can make a difference to the economy as long as we keep working hard and contribute our talents here on earth to offer people what they want. So keep working hard people!! Hopefully, this post can make a difference, just as the post of our complaint of Facebook, got their website going again, hehe!

Facebook slow, anyone experiencing the same problem?

I have always been a fan of Facebook but now it's become a little frustrating, it is slow when loading sometimes. Sometimes it's ok, but sometimes it's very slow and I just give up opening the pages. Fans of Playful Tots in Facebook, please know that if your request has been slow in response it's because Facebook is slow at certain times of the day, and I will only open the pages later. Thank you all for your support.

Playful Tips for 1-2 Years Old

"Mamh mah", our 2-month old Playful Tots is uttering its first words! So cute! Hi parents and friends, Playful Tots has decided to launch its blog series called "Playful Tips". Here we will share some tips for parents on how to play or educate our toddlers. Here's our first Playful Tips:

Tip on how to play and educate your 1-2 year old kids:

Preparation: When changing your toddlers' clothes, lay out his or her clothes on the bed, for example, a blue t-shirt and a pink shorts.

How to play: Place your loved one on the bed and direct him or her to the clothes that you want him or her to get to you. For example, say "Playful (ur kid's name), can you get mommy the blue t-shirt?" If your loved one is right, clap your hands in encouragement, and say "Yay that's right, you are so smart!" and re-emphasize that "Yes my dear, that's right! This is a blue t-shirt!" and proceed to put the blue t-shirt on for him/her.

If your loved one get it wrong, do still praise him/her but correct him/her: "Very good my dear, but you know this is a pink shorts not a blue t-shirt!" And then, let him/her find again the right clothing for you.

Game's effect and result: Your 1-2 year olds will be able to differentiate a variety of colours, and heighten their skills in knowing and understanding different objects.

Playful Tots had a pleasant surprise!

After all the negative news in Indonesia, bombings, ManU canceling their plans to Jakarta...Playful Tots is proud to say that Indonesians are resilient and strong in their outlook on lives. After the brief scare, I saw Indonesians at the malls, and even at ITC Mangga Dua we are happy to say business has been brisk this Sunday at Playful Tots.

We want to salute you and "clap clap"....yes playfully clap our hands to all Indonesians who stood up to their fear of terrorists and go live their lives as normal as possible. I personally was touched just seeing people living their lives. I wonder if our blog has a little to do with it, hopefully it did even just by a little bit.

Please don't let terrorists destroy the image of our country, we are slated to be the next booming economy in the next few years. Let us work hard and build the nation by each of us doing our best and not give in to any negativity, and there has been so many such as the recession, H1N1, MJ passing away, and now the bomb.

We at Playful Tots will promise that we will do our best to stick of our philosophy of providing the best clothes to Indonesians at reasonable prices. How about you readers out there? Make a promise to yourselves and give your best to your country.

Man U not coming to Jakarta!

"Bwah guah" Playful Tots is dissapointed in its 2 month old speak....Its favorite team Manchester United are revising their tour plans to come to Jakarta due to the Ritz Carlton bomb incident. It was a long 34 years wait since the last time they come to play in Indonesia, sigh...

Playful Tots want to take this opportunity to give its condolences to those who are involved with this bomb tragedy.

Ritz-Carlton Jakarta was Bombed!

Juz heard the news before I opened my eyes this morning, "Ritz Carlton was bombed Ritz Carlton was bombed", I couldn't believe it, I check the internet and saw the photos...."oh no not again!!"

I wonder if this is all politics with SBY getting re-elected not too long ago, with sore losers trying to mess up his presidency? Sigh, I am sad that Indonesians can't love their own country and only look out only for personal gains if that's the case. I see Obama wins and Hilary Clinton becomes his Secretary of State, that's the love for the country we should have.

Playful Tots Very Own Cute Paper Bag - At Lasst!!

"Gwa gwa!" Playful Tots is very excited in its 2 month-old baby speak, our paper bag has finally arrived! Its in our colour pink and green just like our store and the cartoon character is soooo cutee! As promised, we will change for the better as we grow older. This is one of the many improvements we'll make to our store. Once again thank you fans and friends for supporting us, come by our store and have a wonderful shopping experience!

Thumbs up Hannah Montana - The Movie

Just went to watch Hannah Montana the movie the other day! What are we doing??? We were dragged by our nephews who are on their school holiday to watch it...."okay", we thought maybe we'll see what is the hype all about, for your info: we've never watched Hannah Montana before on T.V, like never! So were quite pleasantly surprised to the comedy aspect of the movie and we now know why she's so popular, Hannah is a great singer who is gorgeous and has a pleasant and humble personality!

Shhh....movie spoiler....Hannah is actually Miley Cyrus! Haha but I guess all the kids already knew that, and we are the ones who are scratching our heads figuring that out! If you can this funny picture imagine in your heads, we are constantly the ones asking questions to our nephews like: Is the dark haired girl the same girl as Hannah? Is that Hannah's real dad in real life acting with her? (answer is yes). I always thought it's always the other way round when we watch movies.

The movie overall is heartwarming, a little cheesy but that's normal since it's a kid's movie, and funny! It was quite emotional at the end and we felt it....overall given the target market of this movie we say it's a thumbs-up, I think I enjoyed it better than transformers (Oh my God! I can't believe I said that!) Okay, Hannah, Miley whoever you want to be, although we won't be watching your t.v shows as ardently as our nephews, but we have become a fan of you!

By the way, a sneak preview at "Playful Tots", we'll have some of Hannah's clothes and bags on the way for you kids out there in Indonesia...yay! We'll let you know when the items arrive! Now that's the real spoiler! Hehe

Good morning friends....selamat pagi teman-teman! Good news, as of today Playful Tots is now on facebook, so if you have a facebook account come and be our fan and support us. We are now moving to 2 months old as a company! We still have a lot of growing up and learning to do, please shower us with all your love like you do an infant!

We did a quick check! As of today we already have 44 fans on facebook! And we have only begun our facebook promo less than 24 hours! Thank you or "dah dah" in our 2 month-old baby speak! Help us spread the word! We are going to bring the best baby and kid's clothes to Indonesia, and fill the country with fashionable kids and toddlers! Join us in our mission!

A tribute to MJ the King of Pop

We are really sad that Michael Jackson has 'left the building', we love his music and admire his passion for what he does. He is an inspiration, and his music contribute so much to the world and some of his songs like "Heal the World" and "We are the World", unites us so much in meaning and in such a global scale that it is unprecedented. I was watching his half-time show for the Super Bowl in 1993, and I was like DAMN!!! It's spectacular then and it is still spectacular in 2009, no other artists can show their performances in 1993 in 2009 and still wow the crowd, and that to me is how great he is....

Playful Tots - the beginning

Hello everyone and welcome to our brand new exciting store! We specialise in Kid's Fashion.

We are located at ITC Mangga Dua on the 5th floor just beside Akun tailor right on the hallway.

As of July 2009 you can say, we are still a baby! We are just barely 1 month old ++ but we are as playful as can be! I am sure parents know that at this age we are still very delicate, so we still need a lot of nurturing and care, so that we can grow up to be a wonderful human being! (or in this case a wonderful store!)

Anyway, who is Playful Tots ("anak yang suka bermain" in Indonesian)? Who are we? Why are we here? We started as parents who love their daughter very much, and the story and eventually the journey for our store begins.....

.....As parents we love our kids very much and always provide the best for our children. We wanted to dress up our daughter, and buy some nice clothes for her but we were dissapointed with the selection that the Indonesian market carries. It is really hard to find nice clothes! We went to the mall, even the brand name malls in Jakarta, and the clothes are very dissapointing. There are a few kid's clothes that caught our eye, but we have to shut our eyes when we go to the cashier's to pay for them, if you know what I mean!

"Ok fine, we said", if the Indonesian market do not carry the selection that we want, we will bring the clothes in ourselves. You see, our daughter is growing up fast, and there is not many opportunity to photo her in 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, because her face and body is changing at such a rapid pace, she's now 1 year old by the way as of July 2009.

The journey then begins....we begin sourcing for the clothes we want, while we can't disclose much details due to competition, we want you to know the most important thing: WE ONLY CHOOSE THE BEST! This means that we do not care if some of our suppliers are big name companies or small companies, we will only take the best of what they offer, no compromise. This is why we are different, and this is why our store feels different in terms of look and our offerings.

If this is the case why aren't other people doing this you may ask? Surely all other stores pick only the best if they want to sell.....the answer to this is really simple, it is not easy doing this. First our eyes are already trained to pick the right clothes, and what do we mean by that? We are experienced travellers all over the world from the U.S.A to Australia, to Hong Kong, China, Europe so we know what is "nice". Second, we are multi-lingual, so we are able to communicate and negotiate effectively, and search all over the globe for the best kid's clothes at decent prices. Third, unlike some other stores, we are PASSIONATE and we CARE about what we do every single day, and we seek to improve every day, yes that's right! Every day! Just like our kids, we will evolve rapidly during our early years, and will continue to evolve but at a slower pace when we become 'adults'. There are many other reasons but I just want to highlight the important ones.

When you shop with us, we want you to experience the whole concept, from our customer service, to our bright 'playful colours', to our selection of kid's clothes which we think are 'eye candies'. Plus! our prices are reasonable and affordable, you'll find that our prices are either cheaper or equivalent to all malls even when the malls have their so-called 'sales', so shop with confidence!
